Packaging your orders

How to package your orders to make your customers feel special.

You spend hours making your items, taking photographs, pricing them up, writing descriptions, adding them into your shop. You then sell something and need to package and send and it's rush rush rush! But don't panic!

You should allow yourself the appropriate amount of time for an order to be sent out, usually 1-3 business days(customers don't normally want to wait long to receive their item, unless it's made to order of course in that case, they know that and are willing to wait as it's personalised or more unique).

Once it's ready to package and send, how do you package it??

Your packaging should be as professional looking as you can make it. Think tissue paper, ribbon, organza bags, hand written notes, a discount coupon and maybe even a surprise gift! Of course if it's delicate them make sure you use plenty of bubble wrap to make sure it's safe in transportation! Also try and think of eco-friendly packaging as customers will appreciate this.

Buying from other small businesses will not only help them but you can help yourself as you can learn about how they package up their orders and whether you should do something similar or not!

Always include a return address label on the back so that if it's undelivered it can be sent back to you. And make sure it is being sent with the correct postage paid.
